The annual Constantia Village K-Way 15km Road Race is finally here! All the training is behind you now. Whether you’re competing seriously or just for laughs, everyone’s welcome. 

Constantia Village K-Way 15km is a nice middle distance race that takes place on 10 March 2018. The event has two route options: 15km & 5km fun run.

Hosted by K-Way VOB, the route for the annual 15km Road Race and League walk shows off the splendour of some of the most scenic routes of the city. Contestants of the race stand the chance to win some fantastic prizes and giveaways, made available by The Constantia Village tenants.

Constantia Fresh Fine Wine & Food Festival

Over 200 wines and a whole selection of deliciousness are ripe for the picking at this popular annual event.

The rambling lawns of Buitenverwachting wine estate is where you’ll find foodies and wine enthusiasts on Saturday, 24 February for the ninth annual Constantia Fresh Fine Wine & Food Festival. Over 200 wines will be available for you to swirl, sip and savour, while you nibble on gourmet canapés prepared by some of the country’s most talented chefs (Peter Tempelhoff, Edgar Osojnik, Brad Ball, Annemarie Steenkamp and Glen Foxcroft Williams, among others).

 

Participating wineries in the area include Klein Constantia, Groot Constantia, Steenberg, Eagle’s Nest and Constantia Glen, while estates from further afield include Tokara and Jordan Wines (both Stellenbosch), Paul Cluver (Elgin), Hamilton Russell Vineyards (near Hermanus), Beaumont Wines (Bot River) and The Drift (Napier).

Constantia Waldorf Fair

The Constantia Waldorf Fair is back and, as always, promises to be a fun-filled day packed with activities, entertainment, food stalls and delicious things to drink.

 

The fair begins at 10am, with a parade by all the school children at 10.30am, followed by the traditional maypole dance at 11am. Other entertainment comes in the form of a stilt walker, jugglers and magicians, and live music performances (by students and other artists including Chloe Spreckley, Rosie Bruce of the Cameron Bruce Collective, and DJ Simon on the main stage).

FAMILY FUN

Kids’ activities include candle-dipping, a matchbox castle, a kids’ market, dunk-the-teacher, a haunted house, Jeepers Creepers, afoofie slide, slacklining, face-painting, fishy fishy, dart tombola, henna tattoos, giant foosball, an apple orchard, pillow fights, sumo wrestling, table tennis, a pool table, and knife throwing.

This year’s fair takes place in and around the primary school, with the many trees providing ample shade. So bring a picnic blanket, find a spot to chill, and enjoy the live music and delicious food and drinks on offer, which include pancakes, samosas, boerewors rolls, burgers, quiche and salad, curry and rice, and much more.
